LIGHT AIR CHALLENGES THE FLEET

A light breeze prevented the Race Committee of the Marina Portoroz Melges 24 Regatta 2019, the first event of the 2019 Melges 24 European Sailing Series, from getting more than one race sailed today. Some increase in wind is forecast for tomorrow, while tonight sees the Melges 24 Sailors Dinner take place in the Marina Portoroz.

DIFFICULT CONDITIONS FAVOUR CORINTHIANS

The Marina Portorož Melges 24 Regatta, first event in the 2019 Melges 24 European Sailing Series, started with a delay on shore until the southerly wind wrinkled the bay. Thirty teams representing ten nations from all over the Europe managed to complete three races with team Lenny emerging as the early leader.

Melges 24 fleet is ready to rumble

The engines are warming up in Portoroz, Slovenia where in the upcoming weekend, from April 5th to 7th, the inaugural act of the 2019 Melges 24 European Sailing Series – Marina Portoroz Melges 24 Regatta – will be hosted by Yacht Club Marina Portoroz and Slovenian Melges 24 Class Association, with the cooperation of the International Melges 24 Class Association.

Leaders struggle to master the light wind

Less than 10 knots of breeze proved challenging for some crews competing at the second act of the 2018 Melges 24 European Sailing Series while for others it was a chance to put their light wind skills on display and move up the scoreboard.

Portorož Gets Colored in Stars and Stripes
